About the Site
This site has been setup so that I can blog about all sorts of things including gaming, sports, current news, TV and film, but not just restricted to those things. I have an opinion on most things, so do not be surprised to find posts on all sorts of subjects.
About me
My name is Ian Brooks and I live in Somerset, England with my wife Kathleen and my guide dog Piper. We moved to Somerset from the West Midlands and have often wondered why we didn’t move here sooner as the way of life here is so much better than the ‘big city’.
I am registered blind and I have roughly one sixth of normal vision which has put me just into the category of being registered blind. My sight problems started when I was 5 years old when I got cateracts due to German Measles. I have had roughly 30 operations on my eyes through my life and although I cannot see much I am glad I can see something!
Due to my eye condition I have got a guide dog who is called Piper. He helps me get around from place to place and is a great help when it is really sunny as due to my eye problems I find strong light very hard to manage with. Piper is a 5 year old labrador (he was born on 24 December 2005) and I have had him for roughly 3 and a half years at the time of writing this page. He loves to play and his favourite toy is his ball which he loves people to throw so he can fetch it and get it thrown again.
Despite having poor eyesight I love to play games on my PC and Xbox 360. My favourite games at the time of writing this are World of Warcraft and Fable 3. The games I love to play the most are RPG and fantasy games like WoW, Neverwinter NIghts and Dragon Age.
