In World of Warcraft, Game Masters or GMs are members of our customer support department who will be responsible for assisting players with questions regarding gameplay and/or technical issues. We understand the importance of customer support and community building, therefore this will be one of our primary focuses during the beta test program and after the product goes live.

GMs are the unseen gods of WoW. Think of them as guardian angels that are always watching you. If you ever have a problem in game, you can type out a quick description of you problem and open a ticket. In a few minutes a GM will whisper you, usually with a funny into, and will help you until your issue is resolved. You can also ask them questions about the game, as long as it isn’t considered “giving you an advantage” (ie. “where is the best spot to farm for X?” or “can you plz port me to STV?”)
A lot of people who are in the underground community do not like GMs because they have the power to permanently ban your account for actions against the EULA and the ToS (ie. account sharing, spamming, scamming, hacking, .etc)
GMs can help you recover lost items and help you when you fall through the world. All in all, GMs are a wonderful addition to the game that enhance your play experience.
PS: if you ever do talk to one, tell him/her that you’re sad and need a hug… sometimes, if your lucky, they will appear in front of you and give you a hug
a GM handles issues in the game. if you are stuck, have a problem with a player harassing you, someone uses racial slurs, etc, you can call a GM. They will un-stick you, put a warning on the player, etc. they can even remotely fix glitches.
For example, my husband was playing, and fell off of the edge of the world….and kept falling…and falling…and falling. This went on for about 5 minutes, he paged a GM, and the next thing he knew, he was standing at the church in Storm Wind. haha.
A Game Master is a person who masters the game! Duh, you’re so stupid! JUST KIDDING!
A Game Master is a Blizz Staff that can put out realm warnings to all players and also ensure the safety of all players.
